Our Hefner Scholars are honorees of the Robert & MeiLi Hefner Foundation’s “Hefner Initiative – USA/ China/ Asia” program.

Martin Jinyuan Zhang, Hefner Scholar Beijing High School No. 4, 2020

Martin is a graduating student of the 2020 class at Beijing High School No. 4. He is strongly committed to volunteerism in his community of Beijing, China as an English speaking tour guide. Martin enjoys learning and competing in Mathematics.

Jerry Xujie Zhang, Hefner Scholar Beijing High School No. 4, 2020

Jerry is a member of the graduating class of 2020 from Beijing High School No. 4 in Beijing, China. His interests include soccer, researching studies in epilepsy and participating in volunteer work in his community.

Alice Yutong Yang, Hefner Scholar Beijing High School No. 4, 2020

Alice is a student of the 2020 graduating class at Beijing High School No. 4 in Beijing, China. Her hobbies include writing novels, playing volleyball and learning about American History.

Sydney Wuu, Hefner Scholar The Webb Schools, 2019

Sydney is a member of The Webb Schools 2020 graduating class. She was awarded the Americanism in Action Award by the Claremont Rotary Club in 2018. Sydney also is active in tennis and enjoys playing piano.

Luke Raus, Hefner Scholar The Webb Schools, 2019

Luke is a member of The Webb Schools graduating class of 2020. He is a gold medalist of the National French Contest, and served as a peer advisor. Luke enjoys cross country and soccer.

Siri Nuguri, Hefner Scholar Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics, 2019

Siri is a member of the graduating class of 2020 from OSSM. She enjoys singing and coaching vocals, as well as performing as a soloist at grand festivals. She is a world-traveler and enjoys other cultural cuisins.

David Seo, Hefner Scholar Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics, 2019

David is a member of the 2020 graduating class of OSSM. He enjoys taekwondo, playing musical instruments, and is interested in STEM study. David is intereted in learning about other cultures and establishing new friendships.

Alexandra Dagli, Hefner Scholar Western Albemarle High School, 2019

Alexandra is a graduate of the 2019 class of Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, Virginia. She enjoys ballet and is a member of the National Honor Society. Alexandra was awarded the Silver Award for relieving hunger in her community.
